Guidepoint: What is the best part of working on your current team?

Shi Ni: Diversity is the best part. Our team has colleagues from all over the world. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and extremely reliable. I have learned a lot from them and we rely on one another’s expertise. They are my inspiration and motivation at work.

Guidepoint: What is the most interesting or rewarding part of working in the expert network industry?

Shi Ni: The most rewarding part of working in the expert network industry is being the ‘bridge’ that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and insight, by connecting seasoned professionals with varied expertise to top-tier clients and enterprises from multiple industries. It is highly satisfying and fulfilling to know my work can lead to better decision-making and ground-breaking innovations.

Guidepoint: What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in your career?

Shi Ni: Fulfilling clients’ diverse research and investment needs by connecting them with the right experts has been the biggest accomplishment in my career. I have onboarded high-profile professionals to our network, ensuring constructive and beneficial call consultations through thorough communications. Excelling in liaising and recruiting elite subject matter experts, I was one of the top 3 performers of my team in Aug 2021, Mar 2022, and Apr 2022.

Guidepoint: What’s something you learned unexpectedly while working at Guidepoint?

Shi Ni: Speaking to professionals from around the world exposes me cultures around the world that I have never heard of before.

Guidepoint: What’s the most unique kind of expert you’ve worked with?

Shi Ni: I’m most intrigued by healthcare professionals! Working with them allows me to learn different medical terms and jargon used in the healthcare industry which I am interested in (I’ve always enjoyed watching medical dramas).

Guidepoint: Who is your biggest career inspiration whether internally at Guidepoint or externally?

Shi Ni: My biggest career inspiration would be my father. I admire how he always strives for the best and completes every task that he starts. I aspire to be as determined; to work hard and show constant progression in my career. He also teaches me the importance of finding happiness in the work I’m doing and of celebrating my milestones and achievements, even the mini ones.

Guidepoint: Where do you hope your career takes you in the next 5 years?

Shi Ni: In the next 5 years, I’m looking to deepen my communication skills with advisors and clients from various landscapes and industries. Through self-improvement, I hope to build up confidence in speaking with experts. Ultimately, I want to be capable of leading teams to achieve organizational goals and fulfill KPIs while having the ability to mentor and train new members of the team.

Guidepoint: What would you consider yourself an expert in or at?

Shi Ni: I’m good with numbers. I’m able to recognize some of my leads/advisors’ numbers without having to save their contacts. And I always remember people’s birthdays as well!
